The International Curriculum was created by teachers, for teachers. It makes learning easy for kids ages 2 to 14 and is learned and taught in over 1,000 schools and over 90 countries. The International Curriculum is complemented by ICA`s School Accreditation and Professional Development services, which support more than 15,000 teachers and leaders globally.

Comprehensive, research and evidence-based

IEYC guides the transformative nature of learning and development for the whole child, promoting playful learning experiences that encourage curiosity, autonomy and investigation.

The seven foundations of the International Curriculum are applied specifically to the early years context that underpin all learning, consisting of: Child-Focused Dimensions of Learning and Development; A Progressive Pedagogy; A Process to Facilitate Learning for All; Globally Competent Students; Knowledge, Skills and Understanding are learned, taught and assessed differently; Connected Learning; and Reflective Practices to Improve Learning.

Personal, international, and subject learning goals

The IPC provides teachers and leaders with comprehensive materials for implementing the International Curriculum, including guidance documentation that describes how to plan and deliver the curriculum, details of its foundational research, and guidance on pedagogy.

In the classroom, IPC consists of a comprehensive range of thematic learning units that feature detailed descriptions of learning tasks and assessment activities spanning the three IPC "milestones" (ages 5 to 7, 7 to 9, and 9 to 11 years), connecting learning in various areas of study and aligned with the theme of the unit.

Progressive student-focused pedagogy

The International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) involves students aged 11 to 14 and focuses on the specific needs of the adolescent brain. Guided by brain-based research, it is combined with a progressive pedagogy that encourages teens to be informed, globally competent, and future-ready learners.

IMYC features units designed around Big Ideas for teachers to create rigorous and enjoyable learning opportunities that allow students to connect and create meaning with their disciplines. The framework allows teachers to personalize IMYC for teens while developing their Knowledge, Skills and Understanding across multiple subject areas, encouraging them to contribute positively to the world now and in the future.
